I have had a great eye doctor since I was a kid. a couple years ago he quit accepting my discount insurance because they weren't paying him. Anyway my vision is terrible. My contacts are special ordered and they come with no case or anything to tell me where they came from. His mark up on contacts is huge. Can I ask him what my prescription is? I cannot order from 1-800 contacts or similar companies. Who makes these contacts? I have a -14 in one eye and a -10 in the other and stigmatism. I know I am not the only one with vision this bad. I pay about $200-$250 a pair. How can I get contacts myself?
Lasik only corrects up to a -10
I wouldn't be able to be corrected completely though I am a candidate for inplant contacts.
Yes he will tell me what prescription and you hit the nail on the head. They come in those little unlabeled vials. They are soft lenses. One is a toric for astigmatism which means it has a weight in it, the other does not as it isn't as bad. But the one without the weight is the worse eye. I will call and ask what brand I wear. He is expensive but so worth it, he made my vision like a hawk.,
